The eternal boss - Nam “viet” Win

It all started when…

Viet began painting figures when he was twelve years old on plastic green army men with dollar store paints until his aunt gifted him with his first set of Citadel Miniatures and paint. he painted his first commission army of Chaos Space Marines when he was 14 years old. Warhhammer became a lifelong passion for viet and he used his skills and talent to grow Sensei swag miniature art into what it is today.

Viet fell in love with the models, game, and universe of warhammer from the very beginning. he was an avid reader (listener) of black library books, his favorites being the gaunt’s ghosts books. he had his work featured on warhammer community and in white dwarf and won hundreds of panting awards. His personally painted warhammer collection numbered over 1600 models and he painted armies for clients all over the world. His favorites from the collection were his knights and imperial titans but his true love was for his imperial guard.

Viet’s love for the hobby extended into the gaming space where he was a permanent fixture of any event within challenger driving distance. his contagious outgoing personality, kindness, generosity, and gaudy Texas and American flag themed apparel was unmistakable and made everyone he met an instant friend. He brought our Warhammer community together in a fun and spirited way that makes the Texas scene something really special. He donated models and paintwork of significant value to every charity fundraiser in the Texas Tournament Circuit and some outside events which not only brought joy to the winners but touched the lives of those in need and helped make a positive impact on society.

Viet was always eager to share his love of the hobby with others through social media, promoting a fun and informative atmosphere where people could come together and learn how to improve their skills. he was happy to share and listen to advice on stream and in person and made many tutorials so people could emulate his armies which viet was always happy to display (flex). He was excited to bring more and more people into the studio and make more content to reach and inspire even more hobbyists to start their own collections.

When he wasn’t painting, viet was most at home literally barefoot in nature. his passion for warhammer was only close to matched in his passion to explore and enjoy the natural wonders of earth. he made his way across the globe and visited dozens of natural parks and monuments as well as many natural wonders across the world. he enjoyed skiing, hiking, fishing, and biking and pretty much anything he could do outdoors. when he got a bit too tired from painting, he would take a break and blast around the neighborhood on an electric skateboard to clear his head and then come right back to the studio and paint, mentally refreshed and ready to go. He loved travelling to new places and sharing those places with his family and friends that often traveled with him, or through taking beautiful pictures of the places he visited so others could enjoy the things he saw.

Viet loved his warhammer, his loud silly challengers, his collection of freedom throwers (guns), and his best financial advisor (jack daniel’s) but most of all, he loved his friends, family, and he loved living life with a smile on his face. Unfortunately, viet passed away in august of 2023. although he is no longer here with us physically, he will always be a part of the thousands of lives he touched and a part of this studio forever.
